| J1 Program - Work & Travel And Training |
Work And Travel
This program is open to university students who
want to experience another culture while earning
money to support their stay.
By working throughout the United States,
participants have a unique chance to experience
more than just being a tourist, and a chance to
share their own traditions and culture with
people from both the U.S. and abroad. In
addition, they are able to gain some practical
experience and meet friends that last a
lifetime. Most participants benefit from this
experience for years to come.
C.E.S works with overseas Partners that provides
placement in pre-screened seasonal positions at

Program Availability
The Training Program is available throughout the
year. There are no pre-set intakes or starting
dates. Most programs range from a minimum of 6
months to the maximum, 18 months.
J-1 Visa Stamp
The J-1 visa stamp is a legal document
demonstrating that the US Consular Officer or
immigration official has determined that the
participant has the proper background, financial
support, and sponsorship to enter the US.
During the visa application process,
participants must show that they have a
permanent residence and other ties to the home
country that would compel them to leave the US
at the end of their temporary stay. If this
information cannot be verified, the visa will
likely be denied. For this reason, the US
Consular Officer in the participants home
country normally issues J-1 visa stamps. It has
become increasingly difficult to obtain the J-1
visa stamp elsewhere.
A J-1 visa stamp is permission given by the US
Consular Officer for the participant to approach
US Immigration and request permission to enter
the US on J-1 exchange visitor status. The US
Embassy or Consulate issues the J-1 visa stamp
to participants of this program under the
category of 'trainee'. Participants cannot get a
visa to enter the US if they are already in the
United States.
The visa stamp along with the DS-2019 Form and
I-94 form allows participation in the program
outlined in the training plan at the training
site named on the DS-2019 Form. The dates
indicated on the J-1 visa stamp might not cover
the same period that is listed on the DS-2019
Form. The dates on the J-1 visa stamp indicate
the period of time during which the participant
may approach US Immigration to enter the US
under J-1 status.
COST: Program fee varies depending on length of
program and the job position
